Ralph’s Coffee: From New York Icon to Newport Beach Chic
A Ralph Lauren Coffee Shop, Ralph’s Coffee, That Started in New York
The first Ralph’s Coffee opened in 2014 in New York City, on the corner of 55th Street inside the flagship Ralph Lauren store. The coffee shop was designed as an extension of the Ralph Lauren lifestyle—classic, timeless, and effortlessly polished.
Since the original Ralph’s Coffee Shop first opened, it has expanded into a global collection of cafés and coffee trucks, each one reflecting the same signature aesthetic: deep green, crisp white, polished brass, and heritage-inspired details.

The Newest Location: Newport Beach at Fashion Island
The newest Ralphs Coffee has officially landed in Newport Beach at Fashion Island, and it is exactly what you would expect, but in the best way.
Ralph’s Coffee Newport Beach is:
- bright, polished, and beautifully styled
- effortlessly preppy and coastal
- filled with that signature green-and-white Ralph’s branding
The new Newport Beach location feels like a California take on classic East Coast charm, which works perfectly.
And yes… this Ralph’s Coffee location is very cute.

What I Ordered (and What I’d Get Again)
Ralph’s Coffee keeps the menu simple, but they always include a few seasonal drinks, which is part of the fun.
Here’ s what I tried:
Pain au chocolat
This was excellent. It was flaky, buttery, and exactly what you want it to be.
Oatmeal cookie
So good. Soft, flavorful, and definitely worth ordering again.
Blueberry muffin
This one leaned more hotel breakfast vibe. It was not bad, just not as memorable as the others.
Coffee / seasonal drink
The coffee itself was great, and they typically offer a seasonal iced or specialty drink, which makes it feel a little more curated than a standard café. I added brown sugar cinnamon cold foam to my latte. I also got an iced matcha, which was also very good.
If you like Oatmeal cookies, try my Einkorn Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies.

The Merch (Because Yes, You’ll Want It)
One thing Ralph’s Coffee does really well?
The Merch:
- the iconic green-and-white striped cups
- branded mugs and tumblers
- hats, sweatshirts, umbrellas and lifestyle pieces
…it’s all very on-brand and honestly hard to resist. I love bringing a little piece of the experience home!

Final Thoughts
Ralph’s Coffee isn’t trying to reinvent coffee. It’s doing something different. The Ralph’s Coffee shops focus on the atmosphere, design, and consistency throughout locations. And of course, reinforce the signature Ralph Lauren lifestyle.
The Newport Beach location fits seamlessly into Ralph’s Coffee model while adding a slightly lighter, coastal feel. You can get some quality shopping done and enjoy coffee solo or with friends. The great thing about the Newport Beach location is that there is plenty of additional seating outside the coffee shop, and Newport Beach has amazing weather.

Would I go back?
Yes! Absolutely yes, for the coffees, the pastries, and the overall vibe. I’ve been a Ralph Lauren fan since I was a small child. I dressed my daughter in Ralph Lauren from the time she was born. Ralph Lauren’s range of iconic styles reinforces American culture: from Western to preppy, and from athletic wear to glamor. My daughter and I have been Ralph Lauren fans forever. We are also huge coffee lovers. Two of our favorite things have come together, and there is no going back for us. For avid travelers that we are, my daughter and I will go to a Ralph’s Coffee anytime we travel somewhere that has a Ralph’s Coffee. Why go to another Starbucks, Pete’s, Dunkin’s, Costa, or Pret when you can go to a Ralph’s Coffee?
If you want to try some other cafés and patisseries to step away from the big chains, try Under-Study in St Helena or Butter and Crumble in San Francisco.
